Aviation is one of the most global industries connecting people, cultures and businesses across continents. It is necessary for all stakeholders and partners to work together to maximize the benefits of air transport, and to support the sustainable growth of aviation by connecting more people and more places, more often.
The aviation industry is an economic generator. Airports are important because they provide local businesses with access to the nationwide and global market. They contribute and attract business to a community and provide jobs, income and economic prosperity for the area.
When the global crisis started, the COVID-19 pandemic is having an enormous impact on the aviation industry, affecting passenger traffic, air cargo demand, airport workforce and incoming revenues.
The dramatic drop in demand for passenger air transport due to the COVID-19 pandemic and containment measures is threatening the viability of many firms in both the air transport sector and the rest of the aviation industry.
Despite of the challenging times, the Philippine Government continue to work BBB program.
The Build! Build! Build! (BBB) Program is the centerpiece program of the Duterte administration that aims to usher the “Golden age of infrastructure” in the Philippines. Lack of infrastructure has long been cited as the “Achilles’ heel” of Philippine economic development.
While critics express that BBB program is a credit grabbing project and why we can't get our way out of this pandemic. The government still continues to finished the unfinished projects of the previous government and provided over million jobs to Filipinos through the government’s BBB projects in the last four years.
